Step aside GTX, make way for RTX. Next gen Nvidia Geforce GPUs about to be revealed!

It’s been over 2 years since Pascal was released in May of 2016, with the launch of the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 & 1080. Pascal dropping to a 16nm die size, compared to the 28nm of the Maxwell architecture was a huge leap. This led to a comparable leap in performance with by most accounts we’re going to repeat with the Turing cards. Although we’re not going to see a large die size decrease with the next gen cards conveniently dubbed GTX/RTX 20XX (because we’re trying to make it confusing for people a few years down the road).

I predict that we’re going to be running into a golden age of computer gaming. Worst case scenario is that the Turing cards are constantly low on stock & above MSRP (which is likely, but we’ll see). Even in this scenario we’d expect current Pascal cards to flood the market at lower prices than we’ve seen before. The truth is that even 2 years in the Pascal cards are awesome. I have a GTX 1080 and a 4k monitor and I’m still able to play new games at 60fps if I optimize my settings.

Being able to get a card like this for $300-$400 instead of the $700 I paid is going to be a treat. If RTX is as good as people hope, then things will only be better.
